I have been a resident at The Haven now for ten months. The contrast in me from my day of arrival to now is like night and day. I still have lots of issues but thanks to The Haven I am now more equipped to deal with them.
I am now coming near to the end of my programme and am being given the opportunity to go into schools and talk to the students about the dangers that alcohol and drugs brought about in my life. I also speak about the negative impact they brought about in my family and community.
Through hard work, dedication and help from the staff team at The Haven, I have found that I can be a positive influence in my children’s lives and also to the students I speak to at the schools.
I feel I am finally giving something back to the community where as before I was just taking.
